It’s the 97th year anniversary of the establishment of the Iglesia ni Cristo in the Philippines, the fulfillment of God’s pronouncement that He will call His people in the east and gather them from the west. Thus, Brother Felix Y. Manalo became God’s instrument in the fulfillment of God’s decree. All praise to the Almighty God and His beloved Son, our Lord Jesus for the manifold blessing accorded to the church.

Sadly, the anniversary also wakes up the remnant persecutors of the church. Only this time, it’s not giant religious organizations such as the Roman Catholic or Protestant churches. Those days are long gone after the Iglesia ni Cristo routinely trounces them in public debate. It’s not even upstarts like the now nowhere to be found Soriano, or Quiboloy. Nope, the current persecutors of the Iglesia ni Cristo are trolls. You heard me right, trolls. Not the mythical trolls but internet trolls. Anonymous Bloggers and forum lurkers who are too much of a coward to come out in public and challenge the INC face to face.

One of the most notorious is catholicdefender2000. Catholicdefender2000 is an Overseas Foreign Worker who’s hobby is to blog about the INC.He used to be known as losav but after I’ve found out that he’s a homosexual prostitute, he decided he needed to separate his alternative lifestyle, being a gay prostitute, from this Catholic apologetic facade.

There’s nothing wrong with blogging. Just make sure you know what you’re talking about AND you got your facts straight. And be smart enough to make sure you don’t sabotage your own lies on the same page. Predictably, this is what Catholicdefender2000 did. This is what he wrote on his blog recently. He said:

Thanks to Manila Bulletin for saying it correctly. The Iglesia ni Cristo emerged in the Philippines in 1914 was founded by Felix Manalo!

He then proceeded to quote the publication, thus:

Iglesia Ni Cristo 97th Anniversary on Wednesday, July 27, 2011

MANILA, Philippines — The first church of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) was established in Punta, Santa Ana, Manila, on July 27, 1914.

Its founder, Brother Felix Y. Manalo,

He’s obviously trying to imply that the INC was FOUNDED by the late Brother Felix Y. Manalo. EXCEPT WHAT HE QUOTED IS NOT an official INC publication, meaning his source COULD BE WRONG. Are they? Well this is where the homosexual prostitute displays his ignorance and confusion. Because on his next blog post barely 12 hours later, he quote the Pasugo, THE OFFICIAL MAGAZINE of the Iglesia ni Cristo wherein according to him it states:

“Sino ang tunay na nagtayo ng Iglesia ni Cristo na lumitaw sa Pilipinas noong 1914? Hindi ang kapatid na si Manalo kundi ang Dios at si Cristo

(Who truly built the Church of Christ that appeared in the Philippines in 1914? Not the Brother Manalo , but God and Christ)

PASUGO Enero 1964, p. 6:.”

So either the homosexual prostitute who calls himself Catholicdefender2000 has a problem understanding what he writes or he’s just so blinded by his own prejudices that he fails to see what’s clearly in front of him. You be the judge.

The Iglesia ni Cristo
By: Quennie Ann J. Palafox

On the fateful day of June 28, 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, was assassinated by Gavrilo Princip, a Serbian nationalist. This gave Austria-Hungary a pretext to launch a war against Serbia. While the possibility of war was about to become a reality between Austria-Hungrary and Serbia because of the latter failure to comply with the demands of the former, the Philippines on the other hand, witnessed the birth of Iglesia ni Cristo on the historic day of July 27, 1914. One day after, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia and several weeks thereafter, the great powers of Europe were at war with one another, spreading the conflict in other parts of the world. Thus, these series of events culminated in the First World War. The year 1914 marked not only the outbreak of the first global war but the beginning of the religion called Iglesia ni Cristo in the Philippines.

For so many years, the Iglesia ni Cristo continues to expand in and across the Philippines because of the staunch leadership of Felix Manalo, its first Executive Minister. Its leader suffered persecution from his detractors in the first few years of his mission work. This religion began as a small congregation with a handful of followers in Sta. Ana, Manila. From this small congregation Manalo established in Sta. Ana, the church followers spread like fire in other parts of Luzon such as Cavite, Bataan, Bulacan, Laguna, Pampanga and Quezon.

Felix Manalo first saw the light on May 10, 1886 in Calzada, a sitio in the barrio of Tipas, Taguig (formerly part of Rizal province). His parents Mariano Ysagun and Bonifacia Manalo were poor but they were able to send him to a caton class where he was nurtured with Catholic teachings in addition to writing, reading and arithmetic. Although a loyal Catholic, Manalo began to doubt the Catholic doctrines notwithstanding his stay in the residence of his priest uncle Fr. Mariano Borja. To feed his thirst for true religion he joined other religious sects including Iglesia Filipina Independiente or Philippine Independent Church, Colorum, Iglesia Metodista Episcopal, Presbyterian Church, Christian Missionary Alliance, Seventh-Day Adventists Church, but he always ended up leaving the church. His failure to find the real Church of God did not convince him to give up his endeavor. In November 1913, after a thorough reading and understanding of the bible, he discovered the answer he was longing for. He knew that his destiny was to preach to men the true Church of God founded by Jesus Christ centuries ago- the Iglesia ni Cristo.

With his initial success in Sta. Ana, Manalo thought of forming the local congregations of Pulo, Rosario, Tipas and Buting. As the church brethrens multiplied rapidly, those within a similar province or geographical division was clustered into an ecclesiastical district. In its tenth year, the Church’s first district, Pampanga was organized. More districts were created; Tarlac, 1925; Laguna, 1928; Nueva Ecija, 1930; Zambales, 1931; Cavite, Bulacan and Bataan, 1932; Pangasinan, 1934; Quezon and Batangas, 1936. Outside Luzon, in the Visayas Cebu was organized in 1937. By 1946 the first mission in Mindanao was established. The first house of worship made of bamboo and nipa was built through ‘bayanihan’ in Gabriela, Tondo, Manila in 1918.

In February, 1939, the “Pasugo”, a monthly periodical publication in Tagalog, was first printed for the purpose of propagating the doctrines of the Church. The publication of this magazine was barred when the country was invaded by the Japanese. During the Japanese occupation, religious activities in the country were affected, but the INC religious services remained undisrupted. Without the knowledge of the Japanese, Manalo supported clandestinely the guerillas in their campaigns against the Japs by giving them food, medicine and cash.

When the Japanese forces were finally defeated by the guerillas and the Americans, the Iglesia ni Cristo had its first concrete chapel built in Washington (now Maceda St.), Sampaloc, Manila in 1948. The INC overseas mission was launched in 1968 on its 54th anniversary. After five years, Erano G. Manalo, son of Felix Manalo, who succeeded the post of Executive Minister, established two pioneering congregations in Honolulu, Hawaii on July 27 of that year and in San Francisco, California on August 18. A tragic even that shook the INC community was the death of its leader, Felix Manalo, who joined his Creator on April 12, 1963.

In celebrating its 95 years of foundation, a special national working holiday mandated by Republic Act 9645 was signed into law by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on June 12, 2009 declaring July 27 of each year as Iglesia ni Cristo Day. It was a phenomenal religion being acclaimed by many as being strong and dynamic, it remains responsive in addressing social concerns such as peace and order and poverty in the country.

The following is a verbatim copy of the biography of the late Brother Felix Y. Manalo as presented by the National Historical Institute. As far as I know this biography has not endorsed nor approved by the Iglesia ni Cristo.
NOTE: The Iglesia ni Cristo does not have a doctrine that either state or imply that the late last Messenger of God Brother Felix Y. Manalo is the FOUNDER of the Iglesia ni Cristo or that he OWNED the Iglesia ni Cristo

FELIX Y. MANALO (1886-1963)
Founder of the Iglesia ni Cristo

Founder of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), or Church of Christ, Felix Manalo was born on May 10, 1886 in Barrio Calzada, Taguig, Rizal to a poverty-stricken couple, Mariano Manalo and Bonifacia Ysagun. His parents were devout Catholics who instilled in him as a child the love of God. His early religious training consisted of attendance at a caton class, where the basic
doctrines and prayers of Catholicism were rudimentarily taught.

As a youth, Manalo tended the fields, fished and engaged in other activities to earn a living. When he grew older, he thought of other occupations that would make him earn more. He studied photography under his cousin, and then found work in his uncle’s small studio. With his interest and aptitude, he was able to acquire the skills and know-how in other trades, such as
gold-smithing, barbering, and hat-making.

Once, when he went to a church in Sampaloc, he found a package on one of the pews. He inspected it cautiously. The package contained a Bible. This event marked the beginning of his absorption in the study of the Scriptures and his critical attitude toward the religion of his birth. He joined the Philippine Independent Church. He discovered that its doctrines were not
essentially different from those of its mother church, the Roman Catholic Church. Later, he was attracted to the religious sect called Colorum, whose initiation rites led him on a trek to the mountains of San Cristobal and Banahaw. After a brief membership, he realized that the “Voiceof the Almighty” emanated from a quite ordinary human being – a Colorum leader.
He went home, then opened a modest hat shop in Parañaque. He did not like what he was doing. He grew restless, for he really aspired to lead a religious life. In his untiring search for truth, he joined the Methodist Episcopalian Church, enrolling at
the Methodist Theological Semnary. He demonstrated his quickness of mind and deep-seated passion for learning, and became an asset to the Methodists. To find more time for the study of religion, he gave up his hat business. Later, he transferred to the Ellinwood Presbyterian Bible Training School, which had better facilities than the Methodist Theological seminary, and then to
the Christian mission, where he was made an evangelist. After three-and-a-half years of study with the Presbyterians, he discovered the Christian and missionary Alliance, known as the Disciple of Christ in America, and its unique practice of baptism by immersion. This, he believed, was more faithful to the Bible’s teachings than baptism by infusion or aspersion. He was
designated evangelist shortly after he joined the group, and attended its classes in Bible Science for four years.

Between 1911 and 1912, Manalo – still dissatisfied with the teachings and doctrines of the churches he had been part of – joined the Seventh Day Adventist, popularly known as Sabbathists. He continued his studies in the Scriptures. Made a minister of that sect, he proved to be very effective in its propagation. However, due to his constant and profound study of the Bible, he began to entertain doubts about the doctrines and teachings of the Adventists. Finally, he decided to preach the Gospel as it had been revealed to him with the establishment of his own religious denomination, the Iglesia ni Cristo.

Manalo completely turned over his material resources to a friend. He started preaching to four or five listeners at the workers’ quarters of Atlantic Gulf and Pacific Company of Manila, Inc. As the group of sympathizers grew, he conducted his religious meetings out in the open. After a few months, he left the small congregation he had built in the care of the first ordained
minister of his church, and preached in his hometown of Taguig. In the summer of 1914, despite the wave after wave of harassment and persecution he encountered, he was able to baptize a few converts, including some of his persecutors.

On July 27, 1914, the Iglesia ni Cristo was officially registered as a “corporation sole,” with Felix Manalo as executive minister. In 1915, he left for Manila to launch a missionary campaign in populous Tondo. Small meetings evolved into big rallies and public debates between him and the accomplished debaters and leaders of other religious groups. These debates highlighted the logic and validity of his church’s teachings, and served as an effective propaganda tool.

Manalo succeeded in enlisting thousands of members, particularly in the provinces around Manila. As evidence of the big progress he had made, he was able to build not only a beautiful INC mansion in one of the aristocratic suburbs of Manila but also INC chapels in various towns of Central Luzon. He continued his purposeful readings on religion, through whatever
religious books he could obtain. He even traveled to the United States, enrolling at a theological school in California in 1919 to learn more of Bible Science.

Upon his return in 1921, he resumed his Bible classes for the INC ministry. He ordained some students whom he could depend on for assistance in looking after the multiplying concerns of his church.

Manalo was esteemed as one of the authorities on religion. On December 25, 1918, ministers of the Christian Mission honored him as an outstanding evangelist. On March 28, 1931, the Genius Divinical College of Manila, a non-sectarian institution, conferred on him the master of Bible science degree, honoris causa.

As the Iglesia ni Cristo gained numerical strength and recognition, he dropped his family name Ysagun for Manalo, which means “to triumph” in Tagalog, for it seemed to aptly describe the saga of his church.

He died on April 12, 1963, a year short of the INC’s golden jubilee.

Felix Manalo was married twice. His first wife was Tomasa Sereneo. Their only child Ricardo died young. The second wife was Honorata de Guzman, by whom he had six children:Pilar, Avelina, Dominador, Salvador, Eraño and Bienvenido.

To our dearest Bro Erano G. Manalo, our prayers are for your continued success as you lead us towards the perfection of our faith. Happy 95th Anniversary po!

95th Anniversary Logo

In the late 60s, the Iglesia ni Cristo was in all major cities in the Philippines. Not even one province of the country was left without an Iglesia ni Cristo chapel. Since Bro Erano Manalo, the current executive minister of the Iglesia took over the administration of the church after the death of the messenger of God in these last days, the church gained unprecedented success in all it’s endeavors.

The beginning of the end?

What was thought of as the beginning of the end for the church after the death of Bro Felix Y. Manalo was actually the beginning of a new chapter for the Iglesia ni Cristo. These chapters weret to complement the previous successful chapters under the Last Messenger’s leadership.

From the start, Bro Erano raced on o an ambitious vision, that is to prepare the expansion not only nationally but globally. The vision given to Bro Erano was that of a church expanded throughout the world, reaching every nationality and creed and breaking through boundaries. His first move was to set a permanent seat for the administration of the church. Thus born the Central Administration Complex in Diliman. In the same breath, mass media and communication was expanded and improved and propagated. Currently, broadcast media reaches more people than ever imagined especially with the use of the Internet. People who are otherwise not reached by the preaching of God’s word can now avail of it 24/7.

A global Church

In 1968, Brother Erano established the first congregations in foreign lands when he presided over the worship services in Hawaii, San Francisco and New York. From these three congregations the seeds were planted to what we know as the Global Iglesia. The Iglesia is now in over 92 countries in all the 6 habitable continents, counting among it’s members from almost 102 nationalities. It has congregations in Jerusalem and Rome where the seats of world religions are located. The Church of Christ which was first preached by the Lord Jesus Christ in Jerusalem and propagated to the Gentile nations in Rome by the Apostles, was apostatised and and now has gone full circle. It is now back after 2000 years.

A Beloved Leader, a Beacon of our Hearts.

As much as my parents generation had Bro Felix Y. Manalo as the beacon of light that shone their path, my generation has Bro Erano G Manalo. The current Executive Minister of the Iglesia ni Cristo, beloved by his brothers and sisters in the faith, ablest of leaders, our beacon of our hearts. He continues to lead the whole church towards the righteous service of God and the worship of the Lord Jesus.

To our dearest Bro Erano G. Manalo, our prayers are for you continued success as you lead us towards the perfection of our faith. Happy Anniversary po!

Happy 95th year anniversary to all my brothers and sisters in the faith!

It was a rather awesome sight, a day when people of all color and creed from the four corners of the earth bore witness to the manifestation of Almighty God’s power and glory. The sun stood still and the moon stopped. Enemies of warring factions ceased fighting to look up and gaze at the wonderful sight when even the stars shone extra bright that they could be seen during the day. The sick suddenly became well, the maim started walking and the blind could now see. Angels from heaven started singing God’s praise. The date was July 28, 2009.

In a curious coincidence (or is it?), a group of Christians started flocking to designated central locations. From the east, the Philippines where the mission began, to the west in the U.S. and Europe and in all six continents members started their trek. Heeding the call of their leaders, and with joy in their hearts and smile in their faces, young and old trooped to where they were to meet and congregate with their brothers and sisters who come from different places and backgrounds. They had one united purpose for this journey. They were to praise the One and Only True God, the Father in Heaven. And to His Son the glory due Him, God’s only begotten, sitting at His right hand.

Traffic jams were reported for miles along Don Mariano Marcos and Commonwealth Avenues as the faithful converge on the Iglesia ni Cristo Central Temple. Similar jams were also reported on major thoroughfare where Iglesia ni Cristo chapels are located. Businesses shut down and governments was overwhelmed. In the U.S., coliseums used for sporting event were turned overnight into large places of worship. In California, Candlestick Park experienced the best weather it had in a long while. No one expected to be a witness to such an event but they all did. As it turned out, this was Iglesia ni Cristo Day! It is not Iglesia ni Cristo Day because the Philippine government declared it to be. That is of Ceasar. To the faithful members of the church, it is Iglesia ni Cristo Day because the Administration, guided by the Holy Spirit, said so. This is a day when the world witnessed the mighty hand of God gather his chosen ones.

A child was overheard asking his father, “Dad, who are these people dressed in white?”. The father answered, “These are the faithful children of God.” The child smiled and asked, “Can we join them?”. “Yes” said the father, “we will join them.”

NOTE: In case you’re wondering, this is fiction and did not actually happen. Well, not yet . The event, dates and locations mentioned are not factual.

Advanced Happy Anniversary to all my brothers and sisters in the faith! ~ alias resbak

Eli Soriano, the fugitive televangelist wanted by the Interpol fashions himself as a great biblical resource. He even allows himself to be called “Pantas” or wise man. Lofty, isn’t it? He sports many monikers such as “the most sensible preacher of our times”, “phenomenal preacher”, “Walking bible”, “Modern Jeremiah”, “the appointed one”, “he who holds the key”, and others. He even stole my handle, truthcaster. Other terms he uses to describe himself are “tech savvy” and “human encyclopedia”.

Ask the fugitive

But is he really all that? I looked into a few of his pronouncements and found a lot of weird stuff. Let’s together see if this man they call “wise man” make sense at all. Let’s take a look at just three things for now.

1. Sepoys of Cainta, Rizal:

In one episode of his Philippine talk show, he was asked why some people in Cainta, Rizal, Philippines where considerably darker than others.

Not even pausing to ponder the question, he said the reason was that the sun beats extra hot in Cainta, Rizal. Yup, that’s what he said. He said this bit with full authority as if he knew what he was talking about. He made it sound that, as a matter of fact, the sun is just hotter in Cainta, Rizal. He didn’t explain why this is so. There maybe a few reasons why the sun would beat extra harder or hotter in a certain spot, but would this make someone darker permanently? I can see some people may get a tan but to permanently change the color of the skin, and then pass this on to their children sounds a little over-reaching.

The Iglesia ni Cristo religious program Ang Tamang Daan, obviously and rightfully, not wanting this bad information to be taken as fact immediately responded with a correction and a lesson to impart an important historical detail. The reason why some people of Cainta, Rizal of considerably darker is because they are descendants of Sepoys who elected to remain in the Philippines. The Sepoys where Indians who served in the British army.

Way to go “wise man”. One strike for you.

Ask the fugitive

2. Roman 13:13

Again in an episode of his talkshow, supposedly televangelizing. A listener ask him to explain Roman 13:13. The conversation was in Tagalog and the verse as written in tagalog goes like this: “Magsilakad tayong mahinhin, gaya ng sa araw;”.This is the verse in English: “Let us behave properly as in the day“. And

In tagalog “araw” can mean the “sun“, or “day“. Guess which one “Mr Walking Bible” picked as the meaning of “araw” for this particular verse? The wrong one of course. The way he explained it made it even more hilarious. He said, the verse instruct people to walk gracefully, just as the sun glides gracefully across the sky from morning to night. If he had only truly understood the verse, or at least read the verse in English he could have saved him a lot of embarrassment.

Way to go “Walking bible”. two strikes.

Disqualified Soriano campaigning

3. In another episode, Soriano tells his members they can run for public office. Then he Soriano said :”But I will not join politics. I will not run as a candidate (for office). Why? Imagine, a preacher running for public office? Can one serve two lords? Christ didn’t allow that.”

Then he turns and run anyway and was disqualified as a nuisance candidate. He should add this to his monikers, “nuisanse”.

Thumbs down

3 strikes. You’re out! and out you should go.

There you go. Just two of the many “wisdom” from the “phenomenal preacher”. Doesn’t he give new meaning to the phrase ‘false preachers’?

It’s been quiet for a few days now. Those friends of mine Eli Soriano fanatics who’ve been writing nasty editorials and passing them as news. The likes of Abao and Garcia and their fellow fanatic cult followers. But I still have a slight problem. They haven’t taken down those post and blog entries. And a few others, like Joseph Herdon started taking their place and writing on their blogs. I really want this to stop that’s why I’ve been holding off publishing a few articles.

You see, the fugitive accused rapist same-sex sodomizer Eli Soriano built his career by libeling and maligning innocent people. His modus operandi is to rouse mob mentality and ignore reason and then follow it up with his racketeering to raise money to support his dirty deeds. Well, that’s all about to stop because he himself has taken away his primary stage, which is the podium. He allegedly committed rape, now he’s wanted by the law. He can’t fight this in court because he knows he’ll lose and that would bring the immediate demise of his career. So he opted to be a fugitive, and be a simple blogger where at least he can still write and milk money from the few gullible followers he still has. But his end is almost certain. He can’t do this for a long time. The long arms of the law will catch up with him.

Eli Soriano comtemplating his predicament

His sidekick Daniel Razon knows where Soriano is, as well as all of the MICs and of course Jane Abao and her troop of writers/libelers. I also have pictures of some of his followers dated sometime in 2007 with their fugitive leader. If they continue to help him hide and not tell the police where he is, this makes them guilty of harboring a known fugitive. Truly a cult full of criminals.

I hope they stop libeling and maligning so I too can stop and concentrate on what I really wanted to do. All I wanted from the start to for them to stop their libel and remove all libelous post. If they don’t, we keep going. See you losers at the finish line. Eat my dust suckas.

On January 2, 1925 Eraño Manalo of the Iglesia ni Cristo was born. The fifth child of Felix Manalo, Eraño took over the leadership of the church after this father’s death in 1963 ten years after he was elected successor. Executive Minister Manalo, fondly called “Ka Erdy”, is credited for sustaining the stability and securing the growth of the Iglesia ni Cristo. Beloved by his brothers and sister, Ka Erdy has led the church for the last 45 years probably the longest in any religion.

The Iglesia ni Cristo is the largest entirely indigenous Christian religious organization that started in the Philippines and is also the largest independent church in Asia. It has become the fastest growing church in the Philippines. And with it’s foreign mission entrenched in major cities, it may quite possibly be the fastest growing in the world.

With his leadership, the church has grown steadily in the Philippines and abroad. The church today is present in 70 countries outside of the Philippines with over 200 congregations in addition to the more that 3,000 congregations in the Philippines. Under his leadership, the church embarked on ambitious media propagation, through print, radio, television and lately, the internet through net-25.com.

Government leaders extended their greetings to Manalo in time for his 84th birth anniversary. They said under Manalo’s administration, the INC attained a phenomenal growth from a handful of local adherents to what it is today.

We send greetings to the leader of the Iglesia ni Cristo, Executive Minister Eraño G. Manalo on the occasion of his 84th birth anniversary. We wish him good health, great wisdom and long life.
