A PROFESSIONAL basketball player has become the face of Blessed Pedro Calungsod, a Filipino who will be proclaimed saint by Pope Benedict XVI in October.

Ronald Tubid from Iloilo province was used as a model for the image of Calungsod, said Jesuit Father Catalino Arevalo.

“If you look at the portrait carefully he was the one used as model,” said Father Arevalo during a seminar at the Loyola School of Theology on Wednesday.

He said Tubid is a Visayan like Calungsod and was only 17 years old when he posed as a model for the future saint.

“We asked everybody who knew him if he was a good candidate, of good moral character, and everybody said yes. So we used him as the official face of Calungsod,” Arevalo said.

Tubid plays professional basketball for the Barako Bull Energy team at the Philippine Basketball Association. He used to play for the University of the East and the Philippine Basketball League during his younger years.

Philippines most corrupt, survey says

MANILA — Expatriate businessmen in Asia perceive the Philippines as the most corrupt country in the region, according to a survey released Tuesday.

Singapore was ranked as the least corrupt of the 13 economies surveyed, followed by Hong Kong and Japan, according to the annual corruption survey conducted by the Political and Economic Risk Consultancy, based in Hong Kong.

“The Philippines has the distinction of being perceived in the worst light this year,” the survey stated. “People are just growing tired of the inaction and insincerity of leading officials when they promise to fight corruption.”

The survey, conducted in January and February, queried 1,476 expatriate executives in 13 countries and territories in Asia. The Philippines scored 9.40, where a score of zero is the least corrupt and 10 is the most corrupt.

What blasphemy! The Roman Catholic Pope, perpetrator of the crusades, genocide and enslavement of indigenous people, and the inquisition. Protector of pedophile priest and prostitution dared to call himself “God on earth”!

From the book Heresies Exposed by William C Irvine, page 142

Our Lord God the Pope – These words appeared in the Roman Canon Law: “To believe that our Lord God the Pope has not the power to decreee as he is decreed, is to be deemed heretical.

Lord God the Pope – Father A. Pereira says: “It is quite certain that Popes have never approved or rejected this title ‘Lord God the Pope’ for the passage is the gloss referred to appears in teh edition of the Canon Law published in Rome in 1580 by Gregory XIII:

The Pope and God are the same – Writers on the Canon Law say , “The Pope and God are the same, so he has all the power in heaven and earth.

How date a lowly human compare himself to the Almighty and Everlasting Father in heaven.

Question: was the pope the first to compare himself to God? Absolutely not! Here’s the first one to compare himself with God.

I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.”

Do you still remember who said this? It was Satan the devil.

On Hispaniola alone, on Columbus’ visits, the native population (Arawak), a rather harmless and happy people living on an island of abundant natural resources, soon mourned 50,000 dead. The surviving Indians fell victim to rape, murder, enslavement and Spanish raids.

The island’s population of about eight million people, at the time of Columbus’s arrival in 1492, already had declined by a third to a half before the year 1496 was out.” Eventually, all the island’s natives were exterminated, so the Spaniards were “forced” to import slaves from other Caribbean islands, who soon suffered the same fate. Thus “The Caribbean’s millions of native people were thereby effectively liquidated in barely a quarter of a century”.

“In less than the normal lifetime of a single human being, an entire culture of millions of people, thousands of years resident in their homeland, had been exterminated.”

What gave Columbus the authority to subjugate the natives?

‘In 1493, Pope Alexander VI OBLIGED and issued Inter Catera II. The pope NOW DREW A LINE OF DEMARCATION from teh North Pole to the South Pole, 100 leagues(roughtly 300 miles) west of the Azore Islands off the coast of Europe, AND GRANTED SPAIN TITLE UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF GOD TO ALL THE LANDS DISCOVERED OR TO BE DISCOVERED WEST OF THE LINE.THIS BULL ALSO STATED THAT SPAIN WAS ASSIGNED THIS “HOLY AND LAUDABLE WORK” TO CONTRIBUTE TO “THE EXPANSION OF THE CHRISTIAN RULE.” The pope has divided the world for Christian exploration and DOMINATION between Spain and Portugal.

2. Veneration of relics - In the fourth century Saint Helena, mother of Constantine and empress of the Roman Empire, made a pilgrimage to Jerusalem where she is supposed to have found fragments of the true cross on which Christ was crucified. By the sixth century the belief in relics and their power to work miracles was widespread.

Classic example is the Roman Catholic priest Abe Arganiosa, owner of the blog Splendor of the Church. Notice in his blog a “picture” of whom they erroneously believe is the Lord Jesus Christ with the caption that declares the image as The All-Powerful Lord.

Even an Iglesia Ni Cristo child know more about the Lord Jesus and about The All-Powerful Lord that this priest. Here are at least two things an Iglesia Ni Cristo child know that this priest does not.

No one knows what the Lord Jesus Christ looked like in real life. Not one of the numerous images used by the Catholic church represent the true image of the Lord Jesus Christ.

God cannot be seen, therefore representing Him on such an image is ludicrous, to say the least.

[ad#inline-ad-in-article]
Even casual readers of the bible probably at one time came across a particular verse which some religion find offensive. I’m talking of 1 Timothy 4:3 of course, and the church in particular that finds it offensive to them is the Roman Catholic Church. They are numerous blogs which talks about this and yet Catholic still deny that they’re at least one of the churches whose practice are written in the bible but not in a good way. What is in the verse anyway and what’s the big deal? Here’s the verse:

Douay-Rheims Bible
Forbidding to marry, to abstain from meats,

The verse was talking about two particular rules which a church will implement and enforce on it’s adherents. What’s wrong with the rules anyway, one may ask? If we read the verses preceeding this, one would quickly understand that these rules are not rules of God, nor of Jesus Christ and his Apostles.

Douay-Rheims Bible
1 Now the Spirit manifestly saith, that in the last times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to spirits of error, and doctrines of devils,

Who’s rules are these two of? The adversary of God! So it would serve us well to understand this and take action and avoid or leave any religion which practices these doctrines because these are not of God.

What major church and religion practices these doctrines?

The Law of Celibacy Confirmed

14. Hence We consider that the present law of celibacy should today continue to be linked to the ecclesiastical ministry.

SACERDOTALIS CAELIBATUS
ENCYCLICAL OF POPE PAUL VI
ON THE CELIBACY OF THE PRIEST
JUNE 24, 1967

and

Canon 277 – Clerics are obliged to observe perpetural continence (control of sexual desires) and are bound to celibacy.

Some Catholics complained on my use of the term doctrine, emphasizing it is a law. Whether law or doctrine does not matter. It is enforced on Catholic adherents and as is recorded in the bible such a law or doctrine is of the devil.
