More proof the Catholic church is not Apostolic.
The dictionary definition of the word apostolic is “of, relating to, or conforming to the teachings of the New Testament apostles”
The Catholic church won’t be the Catholic church if it didn’t change the meaning of this word to explain its beliefs, thus their definition of apostolic goes like this: “the deposit of faith found in both Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition was preserved, taught, and handed on by the apostles”. Notice how they added “Traditions”.So now, let’s see what they say about Mary, the mother of the Lord Jesus Christ. Catholic catechisms provides us the following:
963 “The Virgin Mary . . . is acknowledged and honored as being truly the Mother of God and of the redeemer
975 “We believe that the Holy Mother of God, the new Eve, Mother of the Church
Mary as the “Mother” of God? Mind boggling! Is this apostolic? Absolutely not! Let’s check:
If Mary was the mother of God:
- she should have existed before the creation. She did not.
- God made both male and female. Mary did not come before creation.
- God is eternal and everlasting. God does not have a beginning, therefore the belief that God was conceived and born is absurd.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’
O LORD, are you not from everlasting? My God,
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
If this teaching is not apostolic , and therefore not Christian, where did the Catholics get this doctrine? It could be from any one of the dozen of pagan mother goddess worship during the time of the apostles.
