Even more proof the Catholic church is not Apostolic

The first to use the word “Catholic” to name a church

catholic is not a term found in the bible. It was never used by Jesus Christ, the Founder of the Church of Christ (Iglesia ni Cristo in tagalog) nor his Apostles.

It is a term coined by a man named Ignatius who was one of the Roman Catholic church “Fathers”. There is no verifiable proof that Ignatius was ever a disciple of any apostle. His letters were supposedly important in the “development” of catholic theology. The term “development” is of important note because this clearly means that changes were made to the doctrines of the Lord Jesus Christ. In plain words, the doctrines of Jesus Christ were altered.

The “Assumption” of Mary

Assumption” is a term used by catholics and it’s supposed to mean “taken up to heaven”. CC 966 declares that Mary, the mother of the Lord Jesus Christ was taken up to heaven body and soul. This dogma has no biblical basis. In fact, Catholics freely admin that there is no evidence of this dogma in the New Testament, where the teachings of the Apostles can be found.

Angels are PURELY spirits. They have no physical features.

Catholic Catechism #329 says that an angel’s office (or duty) is as a messenger and his nature is spirit. Catholic Answers describes a spirit has no flesh and bones. Therefore, a spirit cannot be seen.

If we follow this, an angel cannot be a man, exactly what nicolai is saying and using to criticize the Iglesia ni Cristo’s doctrine about the angel rising from the east.

So is he correct, that angels are spirits ONLY and cannot be seen and touched? And that angels CANNOT be men? I’m a christian and nicolai claims to be one, so let’s check the book that true christians base their beliefs on, the bible.

Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear
With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished.”

When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the LORD was merciful to them.

The Catholic priest as Father

The Lord Jesus Christ himself instructed his followers not to call any man on earth “Father”. Catholic are not too keen in following this instruction and breaks it all the time. They say “not so” and cites verses in the bible where apostles were called father. They argue t that everyone calls their male parent, “father”.But what did the Lord meant when he instructed his followers not to call men “Father”? The verse goes like this:

” Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.”

Clear as day. Do not call anyone on earth father to address them to be the  Father in Heaven, or God.

Catholics, as a practice call regular priest “Father” and the pope “Holy Father”. They follow what they call “Sacrament of Orders” which states that catholic priest “holds the place of God” here on earth. So when catholics call a priest “father”, it’s the same as calling that priest “Father in Heaven” or God. This is not a teaching based on Christian teachings and therefore not Apostolic.
